Mental Health and Wellness Services

Mental Health and Wellness Services are provided to Early Head Start and Head Start children and their families. These service support positive social and emotional growth for young children. The skills children learn will help them to be socially successful in school and in life. The program provides many opportunities for families to learn about mental health and behavioral issues.

Mental Health and Wellness Services include:

  • General classroom observations
  • Second Step social emotional curriculum
  • Social skills groups
  • Parenting classes
  • Information provided to families in handouts and the Parent Involvement Press
  • Consultation with parents/guardians
  • Referrals to community agencies
