Enrollment 

Parent Can Now Enroll at Student Assignment Offices in Lehigh and Fort Myers!

Parents will be able to register their preschool children for the District’s Early Head Start and Head Start/Voluntary PreK programs at the Districts Student Assignment Offices in Lehigh and at the Lee County Public Education Center. Previously parents visited the Early Childhood Learning Services office on Michigan Avenue. Now parents can sign up their preschool children for school at the same office as the rest of their children. The Lehigh Student Assignment Office is located at 9 Beth Stacey Blvd, Suite 207, Lehigh Acres. The Lehigh Early Childhood Learning Services staff can be reached at 461-8475 and their office hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Additionally, ECLS staff will also be at the Public Education Center’s Student Assignment Office at 2855 Colonial Avenue. The office hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Registration begins in February similar to the District’s registration calendar.

How to Apply

Each February 1st, the programs begin taking applications for the following program year. However parents are encouraged to contact the programs to inquire about openings for the current year. 

Parents and/or guardians need to complete the District student registration form and the ECLS application in English, Spanish or Creole.             

To enroll families need to provide the following documentation:

  • Birth certificate of the child

  • Proof of Income (preferably a 1040 Income tax form or one month's salary for everyone in the household, four most recent check stubs.

  • Other income including AFDC, SSI, child support, and unemployment compensation, if applicable.

  • Medicaid or Insurance Cards, including dental if applicable

  • Proof of Address: rental lease or electric bill in family's name

  • Guardianship document if child does not live with both natural parents

  • Social security card for child, if available

  • Parents' Photo ID
